Tomas Maier, Creative Director of Bottega Veneta, and Jack Pierson were amongst the judges panel for the New Exposure Competition. Stian Foss was born in Arendal, Norway October 1977 and attended The Norwegian College of Photography. Upon graduating the School of Visual Arts in 2010, he assisted notable photographers like Craig McDean, Hedi Slimane and Mikael Jansson. Stian resides in New York with his wife and their 3-year old daughter.
The judges panel for NEW EXPOSURE is a prestigious group comprising some of the most important figures in the art and business of photography: Tomas Maier, Creative Director of Bottega Veneta; Ivan Shaw, Photography Director at VOGUE; world-renowned artists Ross Bleckner and Jack Pierson; acclaimed photographer Stewart Shining; visionary creative director Doug Lloyd; Carol Squiers, curator at ICP; and Jarred Land, photographer, producer, and president of the Red Digital Cinema Camera Company. This panel will review the submitted portfolios and announce one winner at a ceremony to be held on July 11th in New York City.

David Benoliel was born and raised in Paris. While he was influenced early by the art, architecture and culture that existed there, he picked up his first camera only about 3 years ago.
Right after a long series of various workshops in ICP NY, he decided to open his photography studio where he practiced day and night for 2 years before allowing himself to reveal his work.
His classic yet innovative and beauty - oriented style was obvious and achieved instant recognition.

BJ, born in Hawaii, grew up in the Philippines and moved to New York City in 1999 where he assisted Richard Avedon and Annie Leibovitz.
Since 2001, he set out on his own to shoot for magazines. BJ’s work has been featured in exhibitions from San Francisco to London.

An Le, from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is working toward a B.F.A. in photography from SCAD Savannah. As a 22-year-old college senior, An Le has received extensive recognition for his work, including two International Photography awards and PDN magazine’s award for best new photographer.
In high school, An experimented extensively in painting before ultimately deciding photography was the medium he would focus on. Most of An’s work now consists of graphic fashion shots and conceptual compositions which he describes as intentionally disturbing and symbolic.
